Parking situation a nightmare

My advice: do whatever you can to camp on site. A 4-mile bike ride to get to the race start isn't too bad in the morning, but the fact that the majority of participants need to then haul their stuff in a backpack up a hill too steep to even ride, in the insane 90+ degree heat, AFTER COMPLETING A TRIATHLON, is criminal. I witnessed so many first-timers suddenly in the elements away from any support (water, electrolytes, volunteers). I felt like it was dangerous after an event in late June; wondered if I'd see someone decline with the heat and exertion. Again, it seems irresponsible, and participants really can't know how bad it is until you ride it -- 4 miles doesn't sound too bad, but the hill is unreal. The course itself is good, but I would never do it again unless I were camping on site. The "commute" and conditions for your subsequent ride back to the car feel poorly organized and cruel.

Great race, terrible parking

The three mile bike back to the parking lot uphill after the race might be a dealbreaker for me in the future. Fun course otherwise.

Moving Buoys

Tri Utah once again couldn't figure out that the swim buoys need to be in place and secure prior to the start of the race. This time they were setting two additional buoys during the second lap of the swim. Also, why is the long length of the swim into the sun? Perhaps they could not figure out were the sun would be at 7:00 on a specific day of the year. It changes throughout the year!
